Cleveland, Ohio – CommuteAir, a leading regional airline and operator for the United Express network, announced that Dr. Richard (Rick) Zeni has been selected as Chief Technology Officer.
“I am thrilled to welcome Rick Zeni as the new CTO of CommuteAir,” said CEO Rick Hoefling. “His extensive knowledge and experience in both aviation and technology will be instrumental in driving our airline’s digital transformation and enhancing our operation.”
Zeni comes to CommuteAir with an extensive background in aviation, technology, and business development, having started his airline career as an Operations Supervisor for Piedmont Airlines in Newark, N.J., in 1981. Zeni has succeeded in pushing the information technology envelope in the aviation industry for a number of other airlines including US Air, US Airways, JetBlue, Frontier, and most recently as Chief Technology Officer for Lynx Air.
In addition to a wealth of seasoned leadership that will continue to develop and enhance CommuteAir’s IT infrastructure and security, Zeni’s impressive educational resume includes a Ph.D. in Management from Rutgers University, three master’s degrees (two MBA’s and an MA in Economics), and a bachelor’s degree in Management Science.
