[VIDEO] CommutAir Has First ERJ145 to Receive New Livery

Earlier this year, United Airlines launched a new color pallet and updated its livery. Since then, CommutAir, a United Express carrier, has eagerly awaited the color change on its fleet of Embraer 145s.

In mid-October, the time finally came. CommutAir (C5) Tail #N16147 headed to Amarillo, Texas, where it received the star treatment by International Aerospace Coatings.

The repainting of the aircraft went very smoothly, however, there were challenges presented by unseasonable snowstorm, delaying the aircraft’s departure by several hours.

Despite the 23:00 hour arrival, chilly temperatures, and light drizzle outside the C5’s ALB hangar, a crowd of excited employees had gathered to see the very first ERJ145 in the new livery arrive Friday, October 25.

Among them was C5 VP of Maintenance & Engineering, Lon Zeigler.

“While we have a number of aircraft to paint, aircraft 147 was C5’s first into revenue service,” he said. “I think it is fitting that it would be the very first to receive the new livery, which looks great on the EMB 145!”
