A pilot’s path to United Airlines was never easier or quicker than it is today.
Regardless of your background or story, CommutAir offers the fastest and most seamless path to United Airlines via its Career Path Program (CPP).
Whether you are a CFI, Part 121 veteran, military, corporate, or a second-career pilot aspiring to fly commercially, CommutAir offers a program that will fast track you to United Airlines.
Below, some are the stories of some of our recent CPP graduates:
CAPTAIN TODD – GLOBAL TRAVELER
Background: With both his parents flying for Trans World Airlines (TWA), aviation was in Todd’s DNA. An Embry Riddle Prescott graduate, Todd built hours by flying Grand Canyon tours for Air Vegas Airlines until he landed with Trans States Airlines in 2004. However, the bug of international travel led Todd to Japan Airlines where he flew as a captain for their new E-170 fleet. After that, Todd landed a job with Emirates Airlines flying the Boeing 777. After 5 years at Emirates, Todd and his wife decided to return home.
Why CommutAir: Todd did his research and quickly realized that with his wealth of aviation experience, the CPP at CommutAir was Todd’s fastest ticket to a United Airlines flight deck.
Qualifications at CommutAir: ERJ-145 Captain and Line Check Airman
Looking forward to: Flying internationally for United

CAPTAIN MICHAEL – LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION
Background: A second-career pilot and proud veteran, Michael joined CommutAir after a lengthy aircraft mechanic career in the United States Air Force (USAF). While his background in the USAF was not in a flying capacity, the structure, discipline, and work ethic proved to be invaluable during his flight training and career. Michael obtained all his ratings and time building outside of the USAF.
Why CommutAir: Michael wanted to be based in the New York metro and didn’t care much for being on reserve. He did his research and discovered that CommutAir’s largest base was Newark and the airline was growing faster than anyone else in the industry.
Qualifications at CommutAir: ERJ-145 Captain, Dash-8 Captain & First Officer
Looking forward to: Being Newark-based on the Boeing 737

CAPTAIN MIKE – THE FASTEST PATH IS AT COMMUTAIR
Background: Growing up in Omaha, Nebraska, Mike always dreamed of flying for United Airlines. Mike built time by instructing at TransPac Aviation Academy in Arizona and joined another regional airline.
Why CommutAir: Mike soon realized that CommutAir’s growth would allow him to build some serious logbook hours, and CommutAir’s United CPP would get him to United the fastest. So he made the career-enhancing move to CommutAir. Since joining, Mike was able to build time quickly and take advantage of the CPP.
Qualifications at CommutAir: Dash-8 Captain and Line Check Airman
Looking forward to: Joining United’s Flight Training department and helping others succeed
